Today in New York on the eve of possibly a further 'shut down', I made a last-minute dash to the Post Office (ensuring I kept my 'ski length' distance away from others), to see a man gift some bags of See's Candies to the Post Office ladies to wish them well at this crazy time. Knowing chocolate cures all crisis situations, and acutely aware the See's Candies store (the only one on the East Coast) was just around the corner I thought I needed to pay it forward. I was greeted by Bill who proceeded to tell me the story of See's Candies, started in Los Angeles in 1921, the chocolates have no preservatives and did I know that in 1972 Warren Buffet purchased See's Candies and that when he passes, his $3.6 billion fortune will go to benefit the world via the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
